Nyx Away We Glow Eye Shadow Palettes

These eye shadow palettes from Nyx have metallic, satin, matte and shimmer eye shadows in them. The shadows are in a pretty rose gold setting with a clear cover and a black back.

There are two different palettes in this collection; Lovebeam (it has romantic vibe to it) and Hooked on Glow (it has a more neutral look to it with a pop of green).

Lovebeam

Hooked on Glow

Top Row Swatch
Colour description left to right: Matte Creamy Light Nude, Metallic Peach, Copper Gold, Metallic Olive Champagne and Matte Warm Medium Rust.

Bottom Row Swatch
Colour description left to right: Metallic White Champagne, Shimmer Honey Nude, Metallic Red Bronze, Satin Rosy Nude and Matte Deep Brown.

I found that when I swatched these palettes they looked nice, but they only ones that looked pigmented were the metallic, the rest didn't seem very pigmented, and some of the mattes felt dry. When I put the mattes on my eyes, they seemed to just blend away a bit and they didn’t last till the end of the day no matter what eye shadow primer I used. The rest of the shadows looked nice on my lids though, and they didn’t crease at all.

I think the look that they were going for was a soft look on the eyes that can be worn during the daytime.

If you want really pigmented eyeshadows I don’t think that these palettes are for you, but if you would like a soft look then I think that you would like these palettes.

  1. sad that the shimmery green doesn't seem very true to pan!

    1. Yeah it is more of a sheer colour. You could pack it on a lot to try to get the true colour though.
