When I first looked at the ingredients I didn’t see any of the usual skincare that I recognized, then I did some research and I noticed that some of these ingredients do have some skincare qualities to them. Some of those ingredients are pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, boron nitride and caprylyl glycol. Pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate is a binder, thickener and an emollient. Hydrogenated polyisobutene is a skin softening synthetic oil that is used in place of mineral oil. Boron nitride is an inorganic powder that has light-scattering and absorbent properties. Caprylyl glycol is a skin soothing, moisturizer that is also used as a preservative. These shadows are also vegan and cruelty free.
The palette comes in a black box with the palette name and the XX logo in mirrored silver and the box itself has a satin feel to it.
The palette has a brown velour cover embossed with XX logo all over it and the shadows and mirror are encased in gold packaging.

The palette has a huge mirror on the inside along with sixteen shadows and two pressed pigments in a combination of shimmers, metallics and mattes. As I was using the shadows I noticed that they kick up a lot of powder when you dip your brush into them, and even after I tapped off my brush there was still a lot of fallout. Even though these shadows are very pigmented, I noticed that with a few of them I got more pigment out of them if I used my finger instead of a brush and I didn’t get as much fallout. Every day that I wore these shadows I used an eyeshadow primer and they lasted all day with little to no creasing, even on the hottest day.
I really like this palette and I want to get the others in the collection. Even though you can’t find these in Canada you can get them from their website and they ship pretty quickly. If you have been thinking of purchasing this palette I recommend that you go ahead and try it out.
