Rare Beauty Magnetic Spirit Eyeshadow Palette

   This is a limited edition eyeshadow palette that has jewel and earth tone shadows that are long wearing.

   This eyeshadow formula has dimethicone, caprylyl glycol and ethylhexylglycerin in it. Dimethicone (a.k.a polydimethylsiloxane) is a type of silicone that is man made. It is used as an anti-foaming agent, a hair and skin conditioner and a skin protector. It spreads easily on your skin and it helps to prevent water loss by forming a barrier on your skin. Caprylyl glycol is a skin soothing moisturizer that is also used as a preservative. Ethylhexylglycerin is a synthetic ingredient that is used as a preservative. It also boosts the effectiveness of phenoxyethanol and softens your skin. These eyeshadows are also cruelty free, paraben free, vegan, have been dermatologist tested and are suitable for sensitive skin.

   

   The palette is made out of a lightweight gold coloured plastic. The front of the palette has a reflective geometric graphic in colours that represent the shadows inside. The inside of the palette has a full mirror and the insert that the shadows are sitting in is made out of a flimsy plastic that is glued in very well. If you want to reuse the compact, you might be able to take out the insert and put other things in the compact.

   When I first swatched the shadows I was really impressed by the pigmentation. The only one that didn’t seem to have a lot of pigmentation was Ablaze. I was able to build it up but it took a few layers. The shadows do blend out really nice and there was only a little bit of fallout from them. I used the shadows with an eye primer, and they lasted on my lids for about ten hours before they started to crease.

   I like the formula of the shadows but the coral and the olive in the palette looks out of place to me. I will buy another one of these palettes though, if it isn’t limited edition.
