Nars Afterglow Lip Balm

   This is a tinted lip balm.

   Some of the ingredients in formula are hydrogenated polyisobutene, squalane, cocosnucifera (coconut) oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil and tocopherol(vitamin e). Hydrogenated polyisobutene is a water resistant emollient that helps to maintain your skins barrier. Squalane is an oily emollient that is a lot like the natural oils in your skin. It works as a skin lubricant and has natural antioxidants in it. Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil is a non comedogenic liquid wax that is a humectant with antioxidant properties. The formula is also free of parabens, fragrance and alcohol.

   The balm is in a beautiful light rose gold case with Nars written on it in white writing. All of the Afterglow lip balms have a different case colour.

   When I opened up the balm I noticed that there wasn’t any scent to it at all. When I first applied the balm it gave my lips a sheer wash of pink, and as I applied it throughout the day the pink got a little darker. The hydration from the balm lasts for a little over two hours for me without a mask on, and with a mask on I found that my lips started to feel a little dry after about an hour. Even though the hydration goes away, the tint does stay on all day so long as you don’t wipe it off, but it does come off a little bit when you have something to drink or eat.

   Overall I do like this lip balm but the full size one is a little expensive for me.
