Clarins Eye Quartet

   This Eye Quartet by Clarins is in enriched with plant ingredients and is supposed to be ultra-pigmented and hold your look for twelve hours. 

   A few of the ingredients in this formula are dimethicone, caprylyl glycol, bambusa arundinacea stem extract and tocopheryl acetate (vitamin e). Dimethicone (a.k.a polydimethylsiloxane) is a type of silicone that is man-made. It is used as an anti-foaming agent, a hair and skin conditioner and a skin protector. Caprylyl glycol is a skin soothing moisturizer that is also used as a preservative. Bambusa arundinacea stem extract has antioxidant properties and helps to soothe and smooth your skin. 

   The palette is in a circle compact with a colour gradient on the lid of the colours inside. Clarins is written in light gold on the top, and there is light gold also on the outside edge of the compact. The bottom of the compact is white with light gold writing on it with the colour name of the compact. The colour inside of the compact has the same light gold as the rest of the palette, there is also a double sided sponge that sits on a plastic holder and also a mirror on the inside.

01 Fairy Tale Nude Gradation

   There are two matte, one satin, and one glittery shade in the palette. As I was applying the shadows, I noticed that the only one that didn’t apply well with a shadow brush was the dark purple shadow. The dark purple shadow did apply well though with the sponge applicator or my finger. There was also a lot of fallout from the glittery shade. 

   The shadows have a primer infused in them, but when I used them by themselves they creased and faded on my lids. With a primer the shadows lasted all day without any creasing, but the dark purple did travel up a bit on my lids which is very normal for me. 

   Overall I do like these shadows but I do recommend using them with a primer to make them stay longer on your lids.
