Maybelline Color Strike Shadow Pen

 

   This is a cream-to-powder eyeshadow in the shape of a pen.

   A few of the ingredients in this shadow are dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol and tocopherol (vitamin e). Dimethicone (a.k.a polydimethylsiloxane) is a type of silicone that is man-made. It is used as an anti-foaming agent, a hair and skin conditioner and a skin protector. Phenoxyethanol is a synthetic preservative that is used in many cosmetic items. Caprylyl glycol is a skin soothing moisturizer that is also used as a preservative. This formula has also been ophthalmologist tested and is suitable for contact wearers.

   The product is in a long tube that is the colour of the eyeshadow. When you open up the product there is a sponge applicator on one side, and the product is in the other side of the tube.

   As I applied the shadow to my, lids I noticed that there was no fallout from the shadow and I was able to cover the entirety of one lid without putting the applicator back into the tube. I used the shadow with a primer, and I noticed that the shadow lasted all day without creasing or fading. I did see a tiny bit of fallout by the end of the day, but it was barely noticeable. I think that these shadows would be great for travel because you wouldn’t have to worry about the packaging or the shadow breaking in your bag.

   Overall I like this eyeshadow and I would love to get some more colours.
